McLean, Va. – NOVEMBER 17, 2020 — ID.me, a federally certified identity provider, announced today that the company will be hiring over 1,000 new employees in Northern Virginia before the end of 2021 to fuel its continued hyper-growth. The company has hired over 300 new employees since the start of 2020 and opened up two new office locations in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Since the onset of the pandemic, ID.me has experienced explosive growth as consumers have shifted the majority of their shopping, banking, healthcare and government interactions online due to social distancing protocols.

ID.me will be hiring across the following departments:

  • Engineering – DevOps, User Experience, Integration and Software Engineers and Leaders with experience in technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, REST, SOAP, OAuth, SAML, Ruby on Rails, Python, Javascript, Go, and Bash.

To accommodate a larger workforce, ID.me has opened two new office locations in the Tysons Corner, Virginia, technology hub during 2020. The newly renovated offices are currently closed to all but essential workers, but upon resumption of normal operations, will offer perks such as a fully-stocked kitchen, lounge areas and a game room. All ID.me employees are able to participate in the company’s stock option plan and enjoy a generous benefits program that includes sponsored medical, dental and vision plans. Employees can take unlimited paid time off (PTO) and new parents enjoy three months of leave.

“We have an audacious mission. We aim to fix the identity layer of the internet with a trusted and portable login that customers can use to access everything from government benefits to e-commerce sites. Like Special Forces, we are executing against the most difficult missions where others have failed,” said Blake Hall, CEO and Founder of ID.me. “If you are looking for a new opportunity that will challenge you to build new skills and offer opportunities for career growth, consider a role at ID.me. We are looking for candidates that are not only passionate about technology but are motivated to help make billions of people’s lives better with more trust and convenience online.”

A mission-driven company, ID.me is focused on ensuring equitable access to online services by making it easy for all consumers to create a digital identity. Traditional identity verification solutions exclude upwards of 30% of the US population because they rely upon individuals having a strong credit file. ID.me is helping democratize access for all demographic groups to ensure that no identity is left behind.

Over the past several years, ID.me has enabled millions of citizens to obtain access to government benefits ranging from healthcare and education programs for military veterans to social security and unemployment benefits for families in need. Active in the healthcare segment, ID.me is helping to increase access to online patient services and fighting the opioid epidemic by reducing the illegal distribution of painkillers. Each year, ID.me helps millions of first responders and frontline workers save tens of millions of dollars on consumer product staples such as apparel and food as well as major purchases such as household appliances and automobiles.
