Tell us about your career journey and how you came to work at ID.me.
I’ve been building for mobile since before the first iPhone changed the world. In the early days of handset manufacturing, I had the unique opportunity to write code for every inch of the device — from the drivers that powered the hardware to the applications that users interacted with directly. That end-to-end exposure shaped how I think about systems, performance, and user experience.
After years of helping companies scale their mobile presence, what drew me to ID.me was the rare opportunity to build on a blank canvas. It wasn’t about incremental improvement — it was about creating something transformative. Today, I use that lifelong obsession with mobile to craft the next generation of identity journeys for millions of users.
What is your current role, and what does your team do at ID.me?
I serve as a Senior Principal Engineer and Tech Lead Manager, directing the Mobile Engineering organization. My team is responsible for the end-to-end development and global distribution of our iOS and Android SDKs, which power mission-critical document verification and biometric face liveness experiences.
In addition to our SDK ecosystem, I lead the strategic evolution of the ID.me Super App. Our focus is delivering a secure, seamless identity experience at scale while ensuring our mobile architecture remains performant, extensible, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
What makes your role especially interesting or impactful?
The opportunity to build from inception is rare in the technology sector. In my role, I have the vantage point of architecting diverse user journeys for a wide array of customer personas interacting with ID.me through mobile.
Shaping the end-user experience in the Super App is deeply impactful, but I find equal fulfillment in defining the Mobile SDK developer journey. Creating a seamless, high-performance ecosystem that empowers other engineers to build on our platform requires clarity of architecture, strong governance, and long-term thinking. That balance between user experience and developer enablement is what makes the work especially meaningful.
Since joining as a foundational Individual Contributor, my role has evolved into a Senior Principal Tech Lead Manager position. I now balance technical oversight, people leadership, and strategic product direction. By “wearing the product hat,” I ensure our mobile capabilities align with broader business goals. I also serve on the API Council, where I help govern the architecture and design standards for our inspection APIs, driving consistency and scalability across the ID.me ecosystem.
